VARANE SAYS FINAL FAREWELL TO REAL MADRID TEAMMATES

New Manchester United defender Raphael Varane has been filmed saying his final goodbyes to his teammates at Real Madrid as he is expected to travel to E gland this week to complete his medicals and sign on the dotted lines. The France international defender agreed terms with the Red Devils to sign for them this summer as he wishes to try a new challenge in his career after spending up to a decade at the Santiago Bernabeu since joining them French Ligue 1 club Lens back in the summer transfer window of the year 2011. Madrid were not the only club that wanted to sign Varane in 2011 as the hefty center-back was also followed by Sir Alex Ferguson when he was still at United.

The Red Devils could not move quickly to complete a deal for Varane back then and he joined Real Madrid as a result. He enjoyed a lot of title triumphs and success at Real Madrid and after winning everything in his career, including the FIFA World Cup title with France back in 2018, he finally decided to join Manchester United – a club he supported while growing up as a kid.

The terms of the deal that will see Varane sign for United have already been agreed and the deal is now only subject to a medical and an official signing of the contract followed by an official announcement and unveiling. A video surfaced last week which saw Varane sharing his final hugs and goodbyes with his Real Madrid teammates and President Florentino Perez and it was an emotional one.

Among the players he hugged and spoke to were Croatia international star Luka Modric, Toni Kroos, Thibaut Courtois, Mariano, Martin Odegaard, and the rest of the squad. He also greeted Madrid’s bee manager Carlo Ancelotti as he prepared to fly to England to complete his move to Old Trafford.
