New Premier League moneybags Newcastle United have been handed a major transfer blow in their pursuit of Croatia international Marcelo Brozovic who plays his club football for Italian champions Inter Milan. Newcastle United are keen to bolster their squad in the winter transfer window and Croatia international Brozovic has emerged as a target for the club with reports claiming that Newcastle United are prepared to pay the Croatia star around£100,000 on a weekly basis  if he agrees to join them.

To this effect, Brozovic will leave Inter Milan as a free agent best summer if the Nerazzuri don’t tie him down to a new deal.

The latest news is that Inter Milan have made an offer of a new deal to him as the Italian champions try to commit his long-term future to the club. Brozovic showed his quality as the best Inter Milan player on the pitch during the 2-0 away defeat at the hands of Real Madrid in a Group D clash in the Champions League. Inter Milan had Italian international NicoloBarella sent off during the game as Real Madrid took the points to confirm their status as group winners thanks to the goals from Toni Kroos and Marco Asensio.

Italian journalist Nico Schira confirmed that Inter Milan have offered Croatian midfielder Brozovic a new-four year contract worth €6.5m plus €1m in bonuses on a yearly basis.
