BROZOVIC: INTER SWEATING ON FUTURE

Italian champions Inter Milan are reportedly sweating on the future of Croatia midfielder Marcelo Brozovic at the club after he received an offer from Spanish La Liga side Barcelona. It was reported by Italian publication Calciomercato that the Catalans have made an offer to sign Brozovic on a free transfer in the summer.  The Croatia international has less than six months on his contract with the Nerazzuri at the moment.

Inter Milan officials have been in talks with the player’s camp over the past months in a bid to agree a new deal, but that might no longer be possible with the reported interest from Barcelona. Inter Milan thought they have an agreement with the 29-year-old over a new four-year deal until the end of the 2025/26 season at €6m yearly salary, but the interest from Barcelona has put spanner in the works of that agreement.

For now, Croatia international Brozovic has decided to take some time to think about his next move with two glaring options. He has to make the decision on choosing between the free transfer offer from Barcelona or the new deal from Inter Milan. Nerazzuri officials are still confident that the player will opt for them ahead of the Catalan giants.

The Barcelona offer is said to be a tempting one for Brozovic but the Croatian star is still a long way off arriving at a decision over his future.

Brozovic is undoubtedly an important player for Inter Milan at the moment. The Croatia international was very important for the Nerazzuri as they won the league last season and he has maintained that status this season in the quest to retain that league title. He has missed just one of the 30 Inter Milan games played in all competitions this season and that was the Coppa Italia round of 16 clash with Empoli.
